We’ve reconvened our panel of experts on NATO and Russia who were wary last year about Ukraine’s ability to rally public support around its cause through a long, cold winter with global high oil prices. But the Ukrainians have persevered, and NATO has stayed the course. Our panel will look backward and forward with us as this relatively small nation continues to roar against the Russian lion.

  • Admiral Gregory “Grog” Johnson, is a native of Westmanland, Maine. He was a 1964 graduate of Caribou High School and 1968 graduate of the University of Maine. ADM Johnson is a retired United States Navy admiral and former Commander-in-Chief, Allied Forces (NATO) Southern Europe, and Commander U.S. Naval Forces Europe.
  • Susan A. Thornton is a retired senior U.S. diplomat with almost three decades of experience with the U.S. State Department in Eurasia and East Asia.
  • Moderated by: Harold Pachios, founding partner of Preti Flaherty and a veteran of multiple, high-level roles in various White House administrations
